Wish I Was There
Well, all I can say is... I wish I had been there.
Let me give you a little background before I get into the story.
We have bars in our window tracks at nearly every window in our house. They are the kind of window that would be relatively easy to break in through. We also have bars holding our sliding doors shut for the same reason. Maybe you see where this story is going..
Today, Justin stayed home with Hunter (still sick). He went out for a walk to help the little guy fall asleep and, of course, forgot his keys. He wandered around for a bit, checking to ensure that we had not, in fact, left our spare key at his parents' (eighteen doors down) and neither at our friends' (fifteen doors down) as would have been smart. So, he proceeded to look around to see which, of any, of our windows might have been open-able. He found one... three feet above our front door.
Let me further explain, Justin is not a little guy. He's 6'5" and built like a football player.
So, he determined that that was the only way to get into the house, unless he wanted to wait for me to catch a ride home, after the girls' volleyball game, with someone else. No. He didn't. So, he proceeded to heave himself through the little window above our door. I heard the story of his attempt (and success without casualty) and laughed quite a bit, while I wasn't staring mouth-agape. He used a brick from our side path to get himself up there and I can't really picture it in my mind... except for the part where his butt was hanging out onto the street and his foot was stuck in the window ledge with one foot inside and his arm trying to grab for something inside to stabilize himself.
I really wish that I had been there. Except that, we all know, if I had been there... I would have been the one hoisted through the stupid window. Or.. we wouldn't have forgotten the keys (you pick which one)

Very, very funny, Elizabeth! I can't really imagine Justin doing that, but it is fun to think about. I hope he has recovered from the manoeuvre. And...what was Hunter doing while his Dad was climbing through the window? Sleeping, maybe!
I hope Hunter is feeling much better now! (and Justin, too)
Luke and Justin have very similar skills...climbing....forgetting keys.I wonder if it was a course offered at KCS back in the day? Or maybe it's just male stupidity.
Too funny. You probably would have remembered the keys.
Too funny!! Pete is like that too, so we put in a keyless entry onto the front door. Just have to remember the code - OH NO.
