Trimming the Tree
Well, yesterday morning, I went outside to get some of my winter preparation done.. namely raking the millions of pine needles that have fallen in the last few weeks. I rake them every two weeks, it seems. I'm glad to have the trees though. I'd much rather have them, than not. All around our house, our neighbours trees have died from Pine Beetle infestation. They treated their trees, too. It's not like they weren't trying to save them. There were just too many bugs. So, anyhow, I looked two yards over and they were cutting two of the trees down.
This brings a whole new meaning to the Christmas-time term "trimming the tree." I'm glad they are chopping them, because maybe the bugs will be gone, now?? Maybe not. I will keep you posted on how it goes next spring. Anyhow, yesterday morning it was fall.

Then, last night the snow started to fall, fast and furious(ly)... it was incredible. We went for a family walk and enjoyed... winter.
There, I said it.
I owe an apology to Jen and Teresa because I was astonished at their early Christmas celebration posts.
Well, guess who's husband put the lights up? You're right. Mine. And, it looks good. If only I could take a good picture. The strange thing is that we are predicted to have 13 degree weather tomorrow. The snow is all going to melt. It makes me sad.

Oooh, pretty! My family and I are preparing for a trip to southern California next week and it just makes me laugh that holidays in Cali usually mean 75-80+ degree weather. What I wouldn't do for a white Christmas every once in a while - even if it started in November...
We're not ready forCHristmas yet, but I have family that pull out the Christmas tree and all the deco to go with it November 1st. Seriously. We usually make our home Christmasized after Donovan's birthday, December 4th.
Oh I am so jealous of the snow! Nothing makes for a perfect holiday season like a little snow.
Burr, I'm cold just looking at that snow!
I think I'll join you in putting Christmas up early. The boxes containing our Christmas tree are sitting in the living room right now!
