Craftiness
Here are my latest projects for first birthdays and my wrap (kinda like a mei tai) for the baby, as well as nursery shots.
The light green (not the inside of the closet, that was the original wall colour of the whole house) is the all-new colour to replace the peach and pink walls. We had a gallon of paint that was left over from when we initially moved in and painted the house. The store we bought it from gave us a new tint, at no cost. That made the project a no-brainer because there was no expense to the paint, just time. We need new blinds (you can't see them, they are deep pink), and we hope to go to the Re-Store and get some nice white ones for super cheap. We've been lucky there before (remember our first dishwasher and our light fixtures?). Also, we will be getting some picture frames to accent the room, but I'm in no rush. For now, sticky tack works juuuust fine. Hunter's hand and footprint are there just because I didn't know where else to put them and I figure they will keep me appreciating the little one because I will see how stinkin' big they can get so fast.
Also, to keep in mind, the bins will be gone as soon as we know boy or girl. There are two bins of girl hand-me-downs that I have saved and am eager to maybe use. Most of Hunter's old clothes (0 - 3 months) I have already washed and put into the change-table/dresser. I also have more bins of Hunter's old clothes that we can use if this is a boy. That's a crazy thing to think about and I definitely teared up when I was pulling out his teeny tiny baby stuff.
This is the babycarrier that I made. It's got a panel in the middle that can be replaced with different panels to change "the look". These ones are all pretty much unisex, but I have other fabrics waiting on stand-by.
These are two sets of name blocks that I made for Hunter's little friends who both just turned one this week. They were fun and I like painting simple projects. Also, they were relatively inexpensive as the wood was leftover from our deck.
This is a whole stack of flannel faceclothes that I made in about two seconds using my Mom's serger (I am soooo wanting my own sewing machines, now!!). The seam work isn't all that fantastic but I don't care because these things will see a lot of washes and I'm not too concerned if I lose them.

WOW look at you crafting away, that is awesome!
I love how you used the left overs from your deck for the name block!!
Lookin' beautiful, Elizabeth (or 'gorgeous' as Hunter would say!). I hope that you enjoyed your long nap today! I know that you realize how much you'll appreciate having 'stocked up' on the zeeees when the delivery and baby come along.
everything looks great Elizabeth! I have been wanting to tinker around with a serger, too, but maybe one day I'll get one of my own. I loved the blocks - so cool!
Great work!
I'm going to bring out the serger this afternoon and hopefully be crafty enough to make some cloths and receiving blankets.
I love the baby carrier! It's exactly what I wanted. Maybe if my cloth making goes alright I can skip right to that. ...probably not.
good job on the carrier!
when i saw the name blocks, i thought maybe you were trying to tell your fellow bloggers something :)
i just noticed your ticker's down to 4 days!!! i think i'd be having panic attacks if that were me, considering 9 weeks is starting to stress me out! at least you've done it before and you know what you're in for ~ i have a fear of the unknown...
You've got talent!! Everything looks great! You're going to love your mei tai!!! How cool that you can change out the middle!!! 4 days for you, and 6 for me!!! Who will go first???? Are you dilated yet??? I'm at 1cm!!!
Girlfriend, you are too crafty! Impressive! Love the green of the nursery, and really love Hunter's hand and footprints as artwork. You are clever!
I now dub you 'Ms.-Crafty-who-rocks'! Look at you! You're gonna have to open up a little business on the side; you know, for all that extra free time after you're finished being prego and all. *wink, wink*
And you call ME crafty? Great work!!
I love sewing anything for baby. I love your baby clothes. My next big purchase is a surger. The nursery looks for cozy.
