I'm a little last minute

Well, we are ten days away from the baby's due date and yesterday (our 4th anniversary) we spent it clearing out our computer room upstairs to make a nursery.

I decided that it's stupid for me to live in a big house (well, it's definitely not huge, but big enough to alow for this) and not to have any space for the baby to call their own... So, we pulled our computer room apart, fixed up our basement-random-storage-of-everything-plus-guest room, downstairs, and we're well on our way to having a nursery. I have recruited my little sister to paint with Justin this evening and then... we're pretty much set. Now, I just have to figure out what to do with ALL the stuff that was in that room and in the two closets in there and all over the shelves... It turns out I probably have enough teaching resources and classroom miscellaneous to fill two classrooms. I'd better get myself on that, as soon as I am off my maternity leave... getting my own classroom, that is.

It's okay that I'm last minute, though. Doc says that we are looking like we're far away from meeting this little one. Jen and FlipFlop, you'll probably BOTH get to meet your babies before I do!

Well, you never know! I didn't dilate at all with theBeast until the day before I went into labor!! So, you could still go first!!! How exciting to get the nursery all painted and ready! We don't have a nursery...but I do need to get stuff out and get our room all ready!!!

I loved getting the nursery together, so much fun and gets you even more excited about the coming baby.

I know what you mean about too much teacher materials. We had to rent a storage unit to hold all my stuff. Sad, we've had that unit over 3 years now, I really need to try and fit it somewhere in the house, and Ian might like some of the prereader stuff and math manipulatives I have.

Take pictures of the nursery, would love to see it.

Way to nest!
I guess this is goodbye. I'm leaving in mere hours. I will be thinking about you while I'm gone. I can't wait to meet your newest family member when I get back.
Hugs!

lol I'm a last minute kinda girl as well. It's great that you have finally come round to it...maybe now that the little one has a room he/she might decide the time is right to be born after all ;)

The planning stages of having a new baby are so rewarding - giving you time to reflect on parenting! Congratulations, you two, on how well you have been raising Hunter! He is truly a joy to be around and I'm sure that he will be the best big brother. So much fun to come - I can hardly wait! But wait ... we must be satisfied to do, knowing that the baby will be born when it is the right time. Lots of love to you all and fond thoughts of the upcoming exciting times.

Oh my, you've been busy! Can we say 'nesting-like-crazy'?? All that moving stuff around should get the plug unplugged! *wink, wink* I think what you're doing is great, though. I'm a firm believer that baby's benefit from having their own room - something my own mother still rolls her eyes (really hard) about. *shrug*

Just don't overdo it and keep taking care of yourself!!!
