Frozen

Interesting way to try and live... "frozen" that is.
Justin and I have been doing some financial "rearrangements", as I alluded to earlier. I just thought that I would share my insight on the matter.

When we were on our Spring Break road trip to the H-otel, I was watching TV while J was at his conference. I was watching a show called
"Till Debt do us part". It featured a young married couple who were spending more than they made and dropping into serious debt. I thought a lot about it and talked to J about it when he got back. The financial advisor on the show recommended that they live on cash only for a month and see where that led them. It's so easey to just swipe the credit card and you end up with no idea of where the money is going...

We felt that we could probably use a little bit of that advice so we decided to freeze our credit cards in a block of ice to prevent our using them excessively. So far so good. Despite a fifty dollar pencil sharpener (for the classroom) and a wheel-barrow (for the gardening we do) we haven't overdone ourselves yet.

I'll let you know how it goes...

Tony and I are so close to being debt free (other than our upcoming mortgage) that it is kinda scary. VERY liberating!!! Freedom!!!!

That is something I should try with Dan too. Good luck!

That's just great. I hate credit. I never used my credit card until we had the kids. My husband though is a swipe fanatic. Causes a lot of debt that I really really don't need. Maybe I should get him on the cash only "diet"

A magazine here, a coffee there, lunch out, shoes/clothes on clearance, it adds up fast!

We noticed we saved a lot of money making most meals everyday. Best wishes with your changes.
