My Soups are Sick

Or at least they make me sick. And I should clarify, it's only my meat soups (Not to worry about other items from my kitchen, but I would advise you to avoid homemade soup on my menu at least for the next while. It's for your own good.)

I have been trying for years to make a good soup using leftover turkey or chicken. I suck. Every single time that I try, it ends up being completely bland and terrible or else it just doesn't get eaten and sits in the fridge until it's far too old to eat.

Then, today, I had to stop eating it and go puke. Prego puke? Maybe (though it's been 10 days since I last got sick)? Scratch that... we're now at 45 minutes.

So. Lame.

Why can't I make a good flippin' soup? I make a killer potato leek soup and a really yummy broccoli cheddar (though I have another recipe that I need to try, thanks Ang).

Does anyone have any great recipes I can follow? I guess I should quit trying to go from scratch. Any advice?

One nice thing, though, this little baby is responding to my stomach acrobats from earlier in a fun way... hee hee, it tickles!

I always make soup from scratch - and the key is pepper (lots of it), garlic, onions, chicken soup stock, and any spices I have kicking around the house - usually vegetable seasoning, oregano, basil, bay leaves, thyme....when I think I've put too many spices, I add just a few more...usually turns out stellar!

Sorry, I'm not much into making soup, it's just too hot around these parts.

Aw, sweet butterfly tickles from the wee one, I miss that!
