Waterworks?
One of my favourite games is a 1970 Edition game that J and I picked up at a thrift store, when we rode our bikes around Kelowna. It's called Waterworks.
In my year-and-a-tiny-bit as a homeowner,I have experienced some waterworks of my own, and I'm not referring to tears. Last year, at Christmas, J and I got totally smoked with a terrible bug. It was brutal. We had just finished work and we each spent two days exchanging turns at the toilet. Hunter was just peachy and slept or nursed or played quietly on the floor as I was collapsed on the couch. He didn't even catch the bug. During one of those nights of delirium, J awoke to a loud banging noise outside. As we have a tenant, we sometimes hear strange noises and he went around the house to find the reason for the noise. Outside, there was a stream of water and the pipe was banging against the house. At 11pm, J banged on the suite door and asked our tenant to please turn off the water. It had already been done, but I guess it went the wrong way... It had been too cold (December 21st-ish) and the outside pipe had split because water had frozen and expanded. Yuck! With help from my Dad, we fixed the pipe this past summer. Thanks, Dad.
The other day, we arrived home from work and climbed out of the car, hearing a strange noise coming from the back yard. You guessed it... we sprung a leak. Again. October 31st and frozen pipes. Yuck. A stream of water sprayed all over the side of the house and froze everywhere it touched. What a mess! I guess this is what they call Déja vu?!
I feel like such a responsible homeowner when these things happen...
On another note, apparently you actually need to sign up for NaBloPoMo. I didn't make the deadline. I will request that I be added to the list, because I really did post yersterday... but if not, I'll just try to do it for myself anyhow... I didn't really do it for the contest in the first place.

Yikes with the pipes. Hope it is fixed and done with. I own a game of Waterworks...love it!
I played Waterworks as a kid :)
2 years ago our pipe burst. Flooded our brand newly carpeted basement. Ugh. It can't possibly happen next year again for you. Right?
