First Time
Today was the first time that Hunter got a mouthfull of bathwater. What an excitement, well not really, I will tell you the story.
Today, Hunter got his four month immunizations. Three shots, two in the right leg, one in the left. Not really a very enjoyable time. Justin and I have heard about how the second round of shots are totally terrible because the child is older and more aware of what is going on. Well, considering that Hunter barely even cried after the first set of shots, we were prepared for a more severe reaction. So, at 8:45 this morning, we were at the public health unit. Hunter was weighed (15 lbs 11 oz) and measured (25, 3/4 inches long) . Then we got to have the shots. The nurses talked to us for a bit and were pleased with what we told them. Also, they were very admiring of Hunter's standing up and his alertness. Yaayyyy Proud parents love to hear that!
his shots were administered and he wasn't too fussy. Just a couple little squirms and that was it. About five hours later, he was not so happy. I stayed home from picketing today to be with him because we weren't sure what his reaction would be to the shots. I'm really glad that I did stay home because he was being quite snuggly and wanted to nurse... that is, until he started to feel the pain in his legs. Screaming and crying real tears, which absolutely break my heart, I gave him some Tylenol and started to run a bath for us. He loves our new tub "a-la-mirrors" and really enjoys sitting and splashing in warm water. So, we climbed in. He stopped crying right away and was content.
He was playing with his stacking cups when he found one full of water and raised it to his mouth to chew on it. I thought to myself, "hmmm, he's going to get a mouthful of water, gross... ah well, I am sure that he will have his fair share of bath water in his life. Go ahead, kid." Lifted the cup and sploosh - water all in his mouth and down his face. He didn't cry, he just turned, looked at me and went back to his sucking and gnawing on the cup.
Good work, kid! I love you.

Aww!
Glad to hear things went well as he swallowed all the water :)
I can't believe how big he is! Next time I see him he'll be running around!!!
*faints*
You are such great parents! It's so important to let your kid experience things - not stopping him from things that might be shocking, but are not life threatening. You certainly have the right idea! Hunter is a lucky boy!
