Packing Up and Moving Out
Hi Everyone. Hunter, here. I just wanted to tell you about my week so far. Well, I woke up Monday morning, to Ben tucking me in and talking to me. Then, I ate and we got in the car to go home to Kelowna. As soon as we were home, Mom and Dad had a long nap with me. We were avoiding the monumental task of packing up our apartment. Pretty much all we have done from then until 4pm Thursday was find all kinds of things around our place and put them into boxes. I sat in my bouncer, the swing, or on random pieces of furniture or the bed as my parents ran around frantically shoving stuff into boxes. What a job. Luckily, they left a lot of things out for me. It seems to me that my parents are going to be living out of randomly packed bags for the next little while.
So, Wednesday night my Hunter grandparents arrived to help us pack up and clean up. We had visits from my friend Josh and his Mommy, Heather, my Mom's friend. Also, my Mom's friend Joanne came by. She is a brand new aunt! Her sister, Jennifer, just had a little boy named Cooper. Welcome to the world Cooper!! Anyhow, we had some visits, then we went to the park and had a BBQ at about 9pm. I was just chillin' in the stroller, it was grand!
Thursday morning we all got up early and started packing and cleaning again. Then, my deVries grandparents arrived with a really big truck (Storm, it was probably the same size as yours) that we put all our stuff into. Man, it was FULL!!! Mom was a little stressed out about that. After everything was packed and cleaned (by about 4:00pm), we got in the car and left Kelowna. I liked living there. I think it's kinda neat that I was born in this part of my parents' life. When we finally got to Kelowna (at around 6:00pm) we wer met at Sahali Fellowship by a lot of wonderful people. Our stuff is all being stored in the church basement while we are homeless. With all the help, it took us no more than an hour to move everything out of the truck and downstairs. AWESOME!!
Friday morning, we went and met with our house inspector from Gold Seal Home Inspection (he's awesome). Then, we met with our mortgage broker, my Mom's cousin Debra Owen (also awesome). After those discussions we had a man come and look through the house to see how much it is going to cost to make the repairs and stuff on the house. Satisfied with that, we went down and signed the final contracts. We are buying a house!!! It's very very exciting! We will probably move in at the end of September, but it depends when the current owners find a house and move out. You can check out pictures of the house at www.bperry.com/733gleneagles_pics.html. Mom is really excited to get in there and paint and make it our place.
We are going to put a new roof on, so if anyone is interested in coming to a roofing party, just let my Mom know. We'd love to have you.
There will be more pictures of the house posted here, once we get in. Until then, we will be living with my two sets of grandparents and also housesitting for my Mom's uncle.
Life is great!
I am growing really fast. I have nearly outgrown some outfits that are for kids 3 - 6 months old and I am not even 3 months old yet (but who believes those labels anyways?). My latest habits are farting in the tub to make bubbles :), giggling, smiling, talking, eating, dirtying diapers and workin' out. I have given some people bruises, I am so strong!!
The sad part of us not living in our own house yet, is that we don't have our computer so my Mom has yet to figure out hos to get pictures of me onto the computer... hmmm.
hugs and grunts,
Hunter
