Craziest Day
So, on around July 24th when we were in Tofino, Justin lost his wedding band. So sad, it turns out that he thought that I had taken it out of his shorts pocket to have it secretly engraved for our two year anniversary - a great idea, unfortunately, I didn't think of it.... So sad, but that's not where this story is going.
August 19th, we were both pretty bummed out about things. The house inspection wasn't as great as we had hoped and we had heard some input on the house that made us nervous, so... we weren't too sure. Also, there are job opportunities that make us a little uneasy - opportunities that are present but maybe not 100% what we want and maybe not where God is calling us to be?? Anyhow, we were not to thrilled in the morning. We had turned around from heading home to Kelowna the night of the 18th because of a number of things (fussy baby, tired, still had the key to the house, etc..). We had been looking forward to being back in our own place, so when we woke up still in Kamloops with no real confidence in the house nor in jobs, we were not very happy.
On Fridays, the Real Estate Review comes out in both Kamloops papers, so we kinda perused and kept our eyes open, but nothing really seemed to be interesting. I talked to my Mom and told her to stop looking because we were just too frustrated. Then, we talked about some job stuff and decided to go and meet with a principal to talk with him honestly about our feelings for September. As we were heading out to do that, my Mom called us about a house that looked pretty neat (so much for "stop looking", right Mom). We were curious so we called the realtor to find out if we could see it.. no response. Then we went to the meeting (felt sooooo much better afterwards) and dropped the house key off at the seller's house. While we were there he mentioned that if we were not going to go through with the house purchase, we needed to let him know asap because he was going to have another open house if he needed to (we had mentioned our concerns to him). I told him that I would let him know as soon as I could. So, we had to decide that... we were heading back to Justin's parents' house when we got a call letting us know that we could see the house at 3pm (in 35 minutes).
SO, we got all the parents to come and see it with us... soooo nice! More sound than the home we had been ready to buy, more space than the other place and also a basement suite to help with the mortgage! Super!! Plus... cheaper! So, we placed an offer and set up to sign the offer at 4:30. Went back to the deVries' called our notary, called the other vendor, called our mortage broker... all was well. We went and signed the offer and it was accepted, we have until this Friday to get the subjects removed... Whew, new house!
Went to the Hunter house to say goodbye and stuff, everyone is so excited about our new house potential. As we were leaving, Mom got a call on her cell phone - someone found the wedding ring!!!!! Justin had put up posters in Tofino at the beach and a surfer had actually found Justin's ring almost a month later! What an incredible blessing!!! I couldn't believe how blessed we are and how much God looks out for us! So, we drove home and then drove to Summerland to visit the Heighs. This morning, I checked our bank balance and Justin got his first EI payment, yesterday. What an incredible day. What an incredible blessing!
God is great!
