Pretend siblings

We just got back from a wonderful weekend at Dustin and Christy's house (thank you so much, you guys). D and C have two amazing (and gorgeous) kids; Ben, who is almost three, and Megan, who is almost 18 months old. Hunter, who is, at this point, an only child, was very much showered with attention from those two, who love babies. Megan loves to say 'baybeeee" and point at Hunter and kiss his little head and Ben loves to share his blankie (thanks, Ben) and is just learning that not all babies are "she."

This morning, I awoke at 7am to hear Ben talking to Hunter and to see him crouched beside the cradle, tucking his blanket carefully around Hunter's head. Sooo cute. I am looking forward to, eventually, seeing Hunter do the same for his brothers and or sisters (Don't get any ideas here...). It's pretty neat to imagine what life will be like with more than one child, if we are so blessed.
Hunter has, at 10 weeks old, been sleeping through the night. He has given his Mom and Dad at least eight straight hours of sleep for a week now. What a great week it has been! We are most grateful for this development. His latest thing is grinning and laughing. It absolutely melts our hearts to hear him and to see his grin. Sometimes, his little tongue will stick out because he is just so happy and smiling so wide. Hunter loves to be bounced on the bed and he loves having his little legs bounced to "Ride 'em cowboy!" What a sweetie. Hunter smiles at himself in the mirror, which is a really neat discovery as well. It's so neat to watch his many expressions change from somber to thrilled.
