I've created a monster

Hunter sleeps with us. It all started when he would wake up in the middle of the night and crawl into our bed with us for a nurse, when he was less than one-year old. When I went back to work, I was too tired to put him into his own bed and to stay awake to nurse him at night then put him back. When I became pregnant, I pretty much just decided that Hunter could come to sleep with me when I went to bed because I a) was too lazy and b) liked the company as I go to bed hours before Justin hits the sheets.

Well, now, we're stuck with it. I know, it's a habit that we will have to break... eventually, and that if we really wanted to end it we could start to work at it. But, to be completely honest, I love it. My little boy is completely sensitive and empathetic to my needs and gives me lovin' when I want it... hehe. I'm sure that this is his nature and not just related to co-sleeping. Anyhow, my point here is not to complain about co-sleeping because I like it and not to start up a fuss about co-sleeping and parents' choices. I said (before I had him) that I'd never do it and that my child's place is NOT in my bed. Oops, my bad. Never say never. I quite enjoy my nightly 'nuggle and waking up with his feet in my back/face/ribs/hands on my belly etc... There are two funny stories that I wanted to share with you simply because they are soo cute!

1) This morning, I awoke before Hunter did, while Justin was in the shower. When H awoke, he toddled out to see me and said "Mommy, come 'nuggle?" and pointed back to the bed. Of course, my little curly-headed angel, I'll be right there...
2) We just had a nap together as a family (bliss, in my opinion). I woke up, sat up and stared at my two boys with my hands on my vibrating baby as the next one tries to get comfortable... or get out, one or the other. Hunter peeked through his eyelids at me. "Mommy, lay down." He ordered. He poked his finger into my pillow and fell back asleep. I smiled, kissed his cheek and came to blog about it. I love co-sleeping. Now, you know where I'm going....

You're going to have to splurge for a king size bed once the new addition arrives. :) All families find what works best for them, so don't sweat it. If he's still 'nuggling when he 17, that might be trouble, but I say enjoy it while you can, if it's working for you. :)

Those are super cute stories. Isabella thinks that when we snuggle in her bed or ours it's a "sleepover", and it's virtually impossible to get her to go to sleep. I don't mind but I definitely hear you on the not wanting to get up in the middle of the night! Hope it continues to be enjoyable for you as long as you want it to.

Conner used to sleep with us - not long, only until he was a few months old and began using me as a sparing partner during the night - and I loved it when he did. Sometimes I wish he would b/c what's better than really snuggling with your child? But he's just like his mom in that he likes his space, so even when he needs to sleep with us (when we're traveling), he won't and it becomes quite the mess. Those are some cute stories, I love the "come nuggle?"

My boys co-sleep. Zander still ever night and every once in a blue moon the other two will crawl in as well. I absolutely love it. Quintus and Jason co-sleep with each other. I don't like to sleep alone - why should my child? Good for you ;)

I too said I wasn't going to have my kids in bed with me but Aidan is only 2 weeks old and he already spends half the night in with us as I'm too lazy to be bothered trying to get him settled in his crib when he goes right to sleep in our bed.
