Fighting back
I have posted before about how we are fighting for the lives of our pine trees (I'm too lazy to find the link). There are six in our backyard.
I should correct that. There are six BAJILLION (yes, I'm sure that's a real number) in our backyard. It turns out that the trees are fighting back. The trees have done their business and have sent off little babies like I have never before seen. Every single spare space of soil, it seems, as well as my lawn are COVERED with the little trees just sprouting. I just spent a couple hours in the yard, because we have some major projects underway... I just pulled out about a million little baby pine trees. It's sad, but even if I left them, they wouldn't all make it. So, I have about ten that I have potted and that I will try to grow big and strong.
I'll let you know how the tree fight goes... so far so good, though I did catch a nasty little beetle on my laudry (hanging to dry) and I left it to suffocate and die while struggling on it's back in a jar in my kitchen. I'm a terrible person, I know, but it's family and friends have done more damage than they can realize.
Here are a few shots of the forest growing in Hunter's sandbox... Crazy, eh?
Anyone local want some pine trees to grow? I'll pot them up for you!!

Grow little trees grow!
I would have done the same thing to the bug!!
Wow- cool! I have never seen them replant like that on their own. Natural survival eh?!
Hey good for them;) We have two pine trees, and this may sound bad but, I wish we didn't:0 They make SUCH a mess. But being such a clean freak about everything, it bothers me when there are a MILLION little pine needles stuck to the inside of my window seal. But as I said, if you want them to grow, then by all means, GROW little trees!
And thank you so much for the kind comment on my blog. I really appreciate your genuine words:)
Wow, they really are growing wild! Maybe you could pot them and sell them?
Great idea! I bet a local gardening or plant group would love them.
