Now with a view!

Wednesday, I called in sick to work because Tuesday night was really rough. I spent much of my day sitting on the couch. I got a lot of marking done and Hunter played very well, on his own. The highlight of our day was the tree (pine beetle got it) across the way being cut down. This tree blocks our view of the city lights. I need to explain that I would much rather have the tree there because it was so beautiful and huge, but I’m glad that it didn’t get to the point that some of our neighbourhood trees are at – dead, brown and a total eye-sore. Anyhow, there were two workers that spent the morning chopping the tree, then a whole crew that chipped the tree and carted it off. It was quite the spectacle and noisy, too. Hunter and I enjoyed watching the ordeal. While we were working on some cookies – a quick craving, I kept running to the window to snap shots of the process. As I had been creeping out all morning, staring at the workers, I decided to bring them some fresh baked cookies. They were pretty excited about that. I haven’t yet taken a picture of the view we now have, but I will and I will post it soon. Here is the process as it unfolded (and yes, I am aware that my front window needs washing).

I always hate to see trees get chopped down, but sometimes it is necessary. We had to get rid of three trees at our house that were either sick, or previous owners put them too close to a wall. We have one more that has to go, it's right up against our house.

That is a huge tree. How nice that you took them some cookies. I'm also not for chopping down trees but I'm sure they had a good reason. I'd love to see your view now

(Gosh, look how dirty your window is!!) Just kidding! I hate when trees have to go down, (sigh) but I guess sometimes it has to be done. I wonder what your view is like now. Hope you're feeling better and had a great weekend!
