Happy Birthday Dear Amanda

Today is February 6th, 2007, already. That means that it is the 19th birthday of my one and only baby sister, Amanda.
Happy Birthday to my wonderful, fantastic, beautiful, laughing, sweet, gorgeous, collar-bone-touch-avoiding, dancing, smiling, snuggling, huggable, baby-sitting, fabulous, phone-talkin', scabes-scratchin' (just kidding), French-speakin', lovely, tortellini-makin', wonderful, much loved and much missed baby sister! Amanda, Happy 19th. I hope that you enjoy your "Party In a Box" and that your day doesn't feel like it's missing anything (other than us, maybe). We'll be thinking of you and wishing you lots of wonderful thoughts. You have grown up in to such an incerdible young woman and I am so very proud of you. I think it's so cool that you are so far away, experiencing another Canadian culture. Peace, Love and Happiness to you, littlest sis.

aside... It has always been my dream to wake up all of a sudden and realize that I am 30 weeks pregnant and all the nausea, exhaustion, nutrition-strangeness never even existed. Unfortunately, that is not my life. I mean, I don't want the time in between to go by too quickly, I just want to find out about a pregnancy when it is already mostly over and that I never got sick or tired or any of the first trimester stuff. I'm not trying to have a "Click" moment... I'm glad - today has been a good day!

When I was a little girl I would fall asleep on the trip from Clearwater to Kamloops but always told my parents to wake me up to see the city lights. It's one of my favourite cities for lights, up on the hill ... love it!

I had a friend with a thyroid problem who had to use fertility drugs to get pregnant with her first two children. When the littlest one was about two, my friend went to the doctor because she was feeling movement and he told her she was 5 1/2 months pregnant. She was in a state of shock. I can't imagine going that long and not noticing! Her baby was early and she felt like she had no time to get used to the idea of this unplanned, unexpected pregnancy.

I guess every pregnancy has its down sides.
I hope you feel better soon.
