Take a Leak
Well, Hunter has been doing just that, lately. Leaking that is.
We are still co-sleeping, which has been awesome with my evening nausea, and so Hunter just goes to bed when I do.
Two mornings ago, Justin and I awoke to find that we were sleeping in a puddle. Hmmmm... a very large puddle, that was surrounding Hunter. I haven't begun the potty training thing because... well, I kinda got scared off it until the kid is older, I guess I'll just have two in diapers, ah well. Anyhow, the puddle. There was a large puddle on our bed, surrounding our sleeping boy. We let him sleep a little longer, assuming the diaper had come undone or something. When he awoke, he stood on the bed and whined quite loudly "Wet. Mama. Wet. Wet." There was now another puddle within "reaching distance" of where he was standing. We stripped him to clean him up and found (to our absolute humour) his "peanuts" (thanks, Mama's Moon PS Happy Birthday!) poking out the top. Fully. never. in. the. diaper. That was clear, as the size of the puddle led us to believe that he had, in fact, taken several leaks without adequate protection. The diaper itself, bone dry! Haha. Well, wash the kid and change the sheets. We had a thick mattress pad to protect the mattress, no major problem. Dirty sheets in the laundry... off we go.
One morning ago, we awoke to the same problem. A puddle a little bit smaller, crept over the sheets. No mattress pad this time, as the laudry was still unwashed. Uh oh, but cleanable. The culprit - wiggly boy had undone the diaper, this time. Oh well, stripped and cleaned up, the sheets were once again chucked in the laundry. Ready to go... I had a severe bout of nausea last night and ran to bed with nary a sheet covering the mattress (terrible, I know) in order to avoid the posible repercussions of staying awake past the puking point. Uh oh, you're thinking.
This morning, we awoke. Hunter had a nosebleed last night. All. over. the. bed. Luckily, the blood washed out.
Perhaps, we can hope that I have learned

and what is the lesson?
I'd say this pregnancy has just turned from "unremarkable" to remarkable. If not for you then for the thing happening around you. :) Good luck handling it all, I'll be thinking about you!
I'd say the lesson is to make sure whatever needs to be tucked in is actually tucked in. When my children were potty training, I purchase bed pads, similar to what the hospital uses to protect their beds. I think I got them thru Sears.
Wow...not sure about the lesson here, but sorry you had some kinda rough nights:0 Going though all that while pregnant, I couldn't do it. But you sound like you handle it like a pro!
I'd say you already learned the lesson. Chuck the sheets in the laundry, smile, laugh and off you go. Life happens and you seem to handle it wonderfully.
I've know too many mornings of waking up in pee!! TheBeast used to soak through her diapers like crazy!! What a pain. At least you have a good sense of humor about it!
I love when Ian crawls into bed with us in the middle of the night. But the next morning, I'm always fearful to find a puddle. Ick. And I hate doing laundry and changing sheets.
I had a good chuckle reading how his diaper was completely dry because his "peanuts" was neglected from coverage. hehe! And thanks for the bday wishes - I had a blast!
So, on to the lesson...? Hmmm, maybe having several layers of sheets and mattress pads alternating would help keep you from having to wash so much in so little time. Don't worry, I've gone to bed without sheets plenty of times thanks to Hubby doing (and then forgetting to dry) the laundry. *sigh*
