soundtrack of my life
It's funny when I glance at my CD tower (which Hunter has recently disassembled). It always seems to reflect a different "me". It shows a different part of my life in music. There's "the basketball years", "the high school years", "the bar star phase", then there's Christian music (which I still listen to) and a big fat "other."
It's funny to think how music could tell you a lot about what I was going through at which time.
Like:
... listening to Indigo Girls and Dixie Chicks and other female artists... I was in a phase where I was kind of a mellow and strong single chick.
...listening to rappers, I was totally surrounded by that kind of music on basketball road trips and with my boyfriend at the time.
...listening to the dance music, that's how Justin and I kinda became friends and I was into going to the bar on weekends.
I could go on and on. Instead, I'll just tell you that the soundtrack to my life right now...
Teddy Bear's Christmas (Christmas Concert for gr. 1)
Paul Hahn (our tape of choice in the car, for Hunter)
A mixed Christian music CD in our player at home (always on random)
Radio music (the soundtrack of my drive to work)
It's good stuff but the radio tunes part is not that indicative of my life stage, I don't think. Maybe down the road it will be. We'll see.
Oh, and another thing... how come I remember having cool CDs that I can't find anymore??? Dido, Faith Evans, Lauryn Hill! Where did they go?

I'm so out of touch with current music. Ian only "lets me" play kids songs cds in the van.
I listen to the radio in the car...mainly because I'm just happy to get the KIDS all loaded that I forget to grab music :)
We're into Christmas music bigtime right now. It's making up for not having time yet to trim the tree, bake, write Christmas cards etc. It's tiding me over.
I totally agree on there being a soundtrack to our lives. I wonder what I'll be listening to at 80?
I hate it when I forget to put out the garbage. Fortunately I have two older children at home to call and get the job done.
Oops, put that comment under the wrong post. Wonder where my head is at?
