Adventure
Well, I've returned from an adventure, though a brief one, before the next begins...
We were at my cousin's wedding at Quaaout Lodge, last weekend, and we had a fantastic time. It was super hot (wedding ceremony out in the sun = steamy!),
but the plans they made were great (snow cones, popcorn and drinks under a gazebo), which made the heat bearable. It was so nice to get to catch up with family and to see all the new preggos (the list grows). The reception was one where costumes were welcomed. Justin put a lot of time into his costume (a robot) and I borrowed my sister, Amanda's, dance costume and got mine together in about thirty seconds. I was the robot-mechanic. Anyhow, I don't have terrific pictures, but I have some. When I tried to blog them, on Monday, it wouldn't work...
The ceremony was really cool, performed by a native elder of the Shuswap Indian band. He was really interesting, and entertained the crowd while waiting for the ceremony to begin. The reception was so much fun. The costume idea really allowed everyone to be a little more relaxed and ready to mingle.
Hunter wasn’t dressed up because I, as you can tell by my thirty second costume attempt, was too last to get one together. After we returned from the wedding, we spent Monday at home relaxing and unpacking. Monday night we got a phone call that Justin’s sister-in-law had experienced a car transmission failure and would need to be taken home, to Vanderhoof, with her five kids. So.. Tuesday morning, we set out and drove to Vanderhoof. It was a terrific trip (though 7 hours long). We really enjoyed spending time with our nieces, nephew and their parents. It’s so neat watching Hunter interact with his family and with kids near his age. He certainly learns a lot by observing! Apparently my pictures for that trip are not working.. sorry. I'll try to post them later!
