I 'n K
Okay, so I missed the boat.
I was supposed to finish introducing my family. I began with my in-laws and then became distracted by other things...the story of my life!
So, I am going to talk about my sister-in-law and her fiancé. I typed I 'n K, because it looks like "ink" and I thought that would be interesting, however, Justin and I typically refer to couples with the person that we know best first, for example... Kristine and Kieran, Alicia and Nathan, Jen and Rylan, Jen and Brent, etc... We've discovered that the trend ends, however, when it is a couple that Justin knew first, regardless of whether or not I am better friends with the wife of Justin's friend, for example, Matt and Danica - we all know that Danica and I are quite close, while Matt and Justin have periods of time spent without hanging out... Does that make sense, anyhow, why would Matt come first? Well, that's only beacause Matt and Justin went to school together and they were hanging out when D and I met.. thus, long story longer... it's "Matt and Danica." The same goes for Dustin and Christy, Neil and Michelle, Luke and Marlene, etc...
Wow, I am getting off track.. Kristin and Ian.
When I met Kristin, the first thing that she did was make me happy. The background... Justin and I were just friends (well, I was interested in him, but he was clueless) and we had been working on an assignment together for Organic Chemistry. He had solved the question that I had not been able to solve and had kindly let me know how to do it. Anyhow, I had convinced Justin to come and see Erin Brockovich with me and I was at his house, he invited me in and I headed upstairs to say hi. So, I walk up the stairs and there is a (ummm...fifteen, at the time) fifteen-year-old Kristin who says, "Oh, this is the Liz that he said he had to call when he solved that school problem!" I grinned. There you go! I haven't even met you yet, and already I like you! Talk about getting off on the right foot! Kristin is such a wonderful girl, umm.. woman. I am so pleased that I am her sister-in-law. Kristin and I have had more adventures together when Justin and I were dating, than now that we are married. That's what happens when you move two hours away, I guess. We have gone shopping once or twice and we also had a lot of fun at her grad, with my digital camera, taking pics of goofy poses and crazy friends and family.
Now, Kristin is all growed up and getting married!! Ack! It's funny that I can feel so old when that is the situation, because I feel like I have known her for ever, but really I haven't known her for that long... It has truly been a blessing to watch her grow up and fall in love with this young man, Ian, who makes her smile, laugh and makes her so happy. You guys, I am truly excited for you and I wish you all the best. Know that marriage is one of the greatest adventures you will ever take and that it's great to know that you have a solid partner in the adventure. Much love....
Oh yeah, and I wanted to say... since Justin and I have moved back to the 'Loops we have had the opportunity to get to know these crazy kooks a little bit better with our Thursday night couples' group/games night. It's been a riot teaching Ian how to play games and then watching him win....argh Colonel Mustard in the Library with the knife!! I knew it before you, you fluked out! Anyhow, I am looking forward to many more fun nights of getting to know you better.
Here's a little picture of the crazy couple just dressed up for a night on the town. Who am I kidding? It was Hallowe'en. Awww... who's that cute little boy they are playing with. Someone tell his mother that he is adorable! hehe
