Recent Conversations with Hunter
3:30am I hear Hunter calling from his bed (remember, he doesn't always make it through - this is five hours in).
"Mommy w'a yo?" (where are you?)
"I'm in bed sweetheart, sleeping."
"Mommy bed? Come to Mommy bed?"
I get up to go get him, just because I want to. As I walk in his room...
"'Dere y'are"
I give him a drink of water and pick him up. "Hi love, this is not always going to be okay, you know?"
"Gonn' be okay little Mommy" as he rubs my back and puts his head on my shoulder.
Little Mommy? Where'd that come from?
This morning after changing a poopy bum:
"Hunter, can you put that in the garbage?" as he grabs the dirty diaper when I pull him off the change table.
"Why?"
"Because it's dirty."
"Why?"
"Because you pooped in it."
"Why?"
"Because you ate food."
"Why?"
"Well, because we fed you."
"Why?"
"Because you are a growing boy."
"Why?"
"Ummm... because that's the way God made it to be."
"Oh. Hmmm."
That's my boy. Think about that one for a bit!
Right now, as I am blogging.
"Mommy, fold a laun'ry?"
"No, sweety we got it all yesterday."
"FOLD A LAUN-DRY"
"Hunter, don't yell please, we folded the laundry yesterday."
"Oh. Okay. You want some?" (He's eating pancakes.)
"Yes, thank you. I'll be upstairs in a minute to make my own."
"Oh. Okay. Then build a track."
"Okay, Hunter, then we will build a track."
"Check yo' e-maio?"
"Yes, love, I'm just checking my e-mail. I'll be right there."
That being said - I gotta go.

Oh my goodness! He's such a conversatioalist. What a cutie. Isn't it scarey how kids pick up on parents behaviors etc.? Hope you have wonderful day and don't forget what a wonderful little boy you have. Loe Frandma
Too cute! Gotta love the "Why?" - Where do kids learn that? My niece who is about to turn 3 is hooked on "Why?" right now. *hugs* Tamara
That's so great Liz. Now you just have to ask him why and see how he answers. Great way to get insight into what they're thinking.
The gears are a going, and a going, and a going. He is quite the conversationalist.
So cute, I love the "little Mommy" thing. so sweet!
Just imagine what is going on in his beautiful, little head! Won't it be fun to see him with his little baby bro or sis? Take care, Elizabeth. I love you!
Love, Mom
