Feels sooooo much better

I've been staring out the windows of my house in the EXTREME heat these past few days. I've been longing to get outside and do something else. Anything else. Even weed. I just needed to get off facebook... well, I had done some painting, but I needed to do something outside. I had gotten to my flower gardens last week when we returned from our camping trip and we had even taken a load of compost to the compost site during one of the hot days. The work never ends, though... My vegetable garden has been booming in the heat and the weeds were getting a little out of hand. I couldn't even see some of the plants that I had planted in there! I took this picture and set it as my desktop background as motivation for when the weather was right.

Today, the tempereature dipped below 30 so I was able to get outside for a few hours. I got down and dirty in the garden (see?) and did some much-needed weeding. (Just for the record, I don't have bow legs, I turned my feet in for the awkward angle of this shot.)
Doesn't it look a million times better?!

Awesome job! The before and after pictures are almost enough motivation for me to get out and do the same to my flower garden, almost! I'm not sure the weather will agree anytime soon....

Wow, you were busy! I'm so envious that you have a garden. My lazy self has not done a thing. Of course this is the time of year when plants burst into flame out here. Come September, I should be able to do something again.

Nice work, Elizabeth! I think your plants are thanking you. You are lucky to be able to share the photos of your well weeded garden on the internet. I usually have to invite people over and make them look at the garden. Your pictures make me wonder about our garden. I wonder how it is doing. Did Heather give you some broccoli?

Wow, you do nice work! Can I say, though, how crazy of you to do that being pregnant? I did the same sort of crazy thing moving stepping-stone rocks in my garden because I had to get it done before my baby was born. ;) Hope you get lots of nice veggies.
