Disaster Zone

I'm currently living in a total disaster area. What started out as a small home renovation has turned into a massive one.
Isn't that always how it works?

We started with cleaning out the area where our left over paint was stored, tidying up the basement (when I say "we", I mean me). Then, we decided that it would be a good idea if we painted our bathroom cabinets and countertop because they were pretty raunchy (again, "we" is me). So, we had the paint waiting in the bathroom for about a week before we were so inspired to begin (now, "we" is Justin). While we were waiting, we decided that our bedroom needed a change, so we moved our furniture around and lemon-oiled all of it to be shiny and new (again, "we" is Justin). When that was done, sitting on our bed at a new angle, we noticed that the door to our bedroom had a sloppy-edged paint job, and it might be best to paint the front of the door to fix that up ("we" is me). Well... we couldn't just have one door painted and the rest brown, so all had to be done (it's getting old, I'll just leave it as "we"). Then we thought they were definitely going to need new handles... The bathroom project had begun, why didn't we get new hardware there, as well, and... oh, the sink was pretty gross off-white with all new white counter, we should replace that... and the faucet while we were at it. When, we painted the bathroom ceiling... Then, we thought it'd be good to put some calligraphy on the bathroom door so that guests know that it is the bathroom... Well, while the paint is out, we might as well go over the kitchen cabinets again with another coat... The entry needs to be re-painted, so we should do that... the crown moulding still isn't done in the entry, while we have the ladder out, we should do that... we might as well touchup the doorways while we are using the white paint...
See what I mean? INSANE!! It's crazy how what started as one little thing, can escalate into a massive project! Fun though, and I am sure glad to have time off of work right now!

That's insane. But coming from you...somehow not.
You should have me over for tea. On the new table. No rug.

Renos are fun for awhile, but are very exhausting, especially when the daughter doesn't like to colour. I'm working on my third time around on the colour in Tia's room. I think we have it this time.
